You may be trying to take good care of your oral & dental health. But unfortunately most of us are doing a lot of oral & dental care mistakes that might lead to opposite results.
That’s why so many people are trying hard to take good care of their teeth, but still end up suffering from tooth decay and gum problems.
Here are some mistakes that you are probable doing with your dental & oral care :
1-Choosing the incorrect toothbrush bristle strength
As known, there are three types of toothbrushes, the soft, the medium, and the hard one. Some people choose the hard one to get their teeth more clean! That’s nonsense, because the soft one can do the same job, and even with more flexibility and without rubbing off your essential enamel.
Using the soft brush also helps protect your gum, whether you are using the manual or electric one, it’s the best way to go.
2- Not giving much time or attention while brushing
Like anything else in our lives, we are doing our teeth-brushing , flossing and all dental care as fast as possible. What could be more important than your healthy & happy teeth?
If you want your teeth to always look clean, shiny and to last longer with you, you probably should give it more time than you are doing.
The ideal rate is brushing two times a day for 2 minutes each, that’s the normal average rate that you can cover all your teeth spots. But most of us make it 30 seconds or less !
3- Delaying clinical teeth cleaning
You know what doctors say , “delaying visiting a doctor makes you visit more than a doctor
! “. This delay gets the problem complicated and the diseases more deep, especially with oral & dental care. So you are adding a problem to your existing problems! Why would you do so ?
Clinical teeth care and cleaning is becoming more and more necessary nowadays. Because of the bad eating habits, the processed types of food we eat like sugar and candies, consuming alcohol and also not doing the cleaning in the right way.
4-Storing toothbrush incorrectly !
Toothbrush and other dental care tools are so sensitive, because they literally get into your mouth, touch your tongue, your teeth and gum. So you have to take care where you are storing it, is it covered, is it close to the toilet cabinet! Scientists say that germs & bacteria most of the time find their way to you through your teeth or what touches them.
5- Brushing immediately after eating ?
After eating, whatever the food is, your teeth enamel layer becomes softened because of the food components, minerals..etc. Thus, it’s not the best time to brush your teeth right after eating while washing your hands!
It’s better if you wait about 30-60 minutes after eating then you can brush your teeth without harming it.
